Remember: Don’t try to squeeze in too much information or your interviewer WILL start to tune out.A good interview is a dialogue, not a monologue. Keep it concise and give your interviewer the chance to dive in and ask questions.Practicing your answer over and over will be the key to success, so break out the mirror and a stopwatch, or get the full advantage of the interactive practice tool inside our Big Interview training system. https://biginterview.com/instant-access
This is an excellent video that definitely is helping me understand how to answer this question, but as an individual with no background experience tailored towards the job I seek and very little background experience at all, I am having difficulty comparing myself, and my answers, with that of those used in the video. How can I even compare to someone who says: "I've got 6 years of experience in..." or "I just graduated from Columbia with my MBA..."??? I can't. There is no comparison. Currently, I'm a Porter at an Antique Store (Janitorial, General Maintenance, with a lot of Heavy Lifting involved). I have been so for a little over 2 years now. Before that, it was non-stop odd jobs, temp jobs, contract/freelance jobs, etc. Getting a job has been my most difficult task in life - ever. Currently, I'm earning my A+ Certification from CompTIA and am attempting to get into Entry IT Jobs (Computer Service Technician, Help Desk, etc.), but I have 0 work-related background experience and it's making it quite difficult to answer Step 2 - Why You're Qualified. So, how does my current situation of being a Porter - basically, a Janitor - relate to getting an Entry Level IT Job? In addition, I have no achievements in life, no accomplishments, and I've been disciplined many times by my Micro-Manager of a boss who hates it when I help people, hates it when I clean on my own accord, and hates it when I don't do exactly what she wants me to do.
Great and precise tips! Super duper helpful. Thank you Big Interview, please keep doing the great work.
This is really helpful. Thank you very much!
Imagine preparing super hard for your interview and then boom anxiety hits. FML😩
Essentially, interviews are conversations. They want to see how sociable you are and how you would fit into their organization.
How do I demonstrate enthusiasm and NOT desperation????
I have an interview Monday let’s see what happens
Concise. Thank you for letting us know that we can still be impactful without having to say too much!

JUST TELL THE TRUTH. BULLSHITTERS GET FIRED SOONER OR LATER, BUT IF YOU GET HIRED FOR BEING YOURSELF, THERE ARE NO EXCUSES AS TO HOW OR WHY YOU COULD GET FIRED. 95% OF HER ADVICE IS PRACTICALLY USELESS.
Tell me about yourself...Well, I like to take shits and eat my dinner at the same time.
I dislike this question and the "where do you see yourself in 5 years" question with the white hot intensity of a star that is on the verge of collapsing!
