  • The Microsoft Surface Go is here. It has a similar design to the Surface Pro and features a 10-inch PixelSense display, integrated kickstand and runs on Windows 10. Our question – what is it designed to compete with?

    What’s a computer?Well this $650 is, but the $800 iPad pro isn’t.

Comparing the base 64gb models, here in europe this is 450€ and the iPad Pro is around 650€ (street prices). Considering how much more powerful the iPad Pro is I don't think the difference is unjustified. The question is: Do you want a tablet or a laptop? The Surface sucks as a tablet just as much as the iPad sucks as a laptop. Having used both the SP4 and the 10.5 iPad Pro I personally would choose the iPad any day. But that's ultimately preference.

As a student, the biggest interest in this, is that it might compete with a normal iPad (with Stylus support) for notetaking. The fact that it runs windows means it's more than a tablet, which means that for school days where I know I'll just need a browser and a pdf reader, I can take this with me without worrying about missing out. This is not the case with an iPad, where you can get into situations where you just crave for a laptop to do something quickly. Here's an example: I wanted to download so...

+Fayzul Omar IPad'sPerhaps I need to update you on situations regarding me, and about the world of computers. I became disillusioned with Windows in about 2011, with the introduction of Windows 8, and began the transition to Android then. At the time I really liked the Android format since it was convenient to work with, and have gone through numerous different tablets since then. Even so, in those days, there weren't very many apps configured for tablet format. One of the other issues was that there...

+Robert Christopulos Are you for real? From all the reviews I've read Android apps not very good in tablet... iPad have got much better apps... Furthermore most reviews I've read said that Samsung smartphone or tablets slows down over time... So I'm currently considering either Huawei MediaPad M5 Pro or Surface Go but couldn't decide which to buy so I end up not buying anything Hahaha...

jalal majid , so you don't like his pro-Apple bias, that's fair. That also brings up an interesting question. Does your comment therefore imply that premium WIndows laptops should be held to a lower standard?

Ouvert oh it stands its ground on its own, otherwise he would be just as popular as the mac. But yeah, feature for feature, samsung does best.

The bezels are big cos holding a tablet with small bezels can be a bit annoying so whether or not thats a good excuse is up to u

     (Aug 11, 2018)

You can't hold this like a phone, completely different issue.

  • Lancelot Xavier

     (Aug 4, 2018)

I agree, the bezel is needed, the reviewers don't get it because none of them use Windows tablets other than as a laptop. And taking the keyboard on and off sucks!!!Tablets that size are used in portrait mode, but as a laptop its always in landscape mode.Windows being what it is will make this process as difficult as possible.Attach a keyboard while in portrait mode and not only does it not automatically change it to landscape but locks it in portrait mode. Try typing sideways. To fix this the use...

Great video, but the trackpad isn't small, it is actually as big as the one on the Surface Pro. Would be great if you could correct that in the full review.
