In SICARIO, Day of the Soldado, the series begins a new chapter. In the drug war, there are no rules – and as the cartels have begun trafficking terrorists across the US border, federal agent Matt Graver (Josh Brolin) calls on the mysterious Alejandro (Benicio Del Toro), whose family was murdered by a cartel kingpin, to escalate the war in nefarious ways. Alejandro kidnaps the kingpin’s daughter to inflame the conflict – but when the girl is seen as collateral damage, her fate will come between the two men as they question everything they are fighting for.

I wonder why Alejandro risked his life to protect the girl but kills two young kids in cold blood in the first movie. Both of their parents were responsible for his family's death. To be consistent he should have killed her too or at least left her to die.

I love this movie, and the relationship between Matt and Alejandro, and the poor kid. I'm glad they saved her.

I love Sicario but I kinda didn't understand why they turned is it because they're burnt out and don't want to be monsters anymore I don't get it Alejandro went from killing two boys and a woman to not wanting to kill and Josh had in his mind he was going to help him from the get go I think that whole conversation was code this man knows how phone is bugged he is a CIA agent so knew not to say anything on the phone I think he has Allegiance to Alejandro that's why he made the comment of you know how hard it is to make one of those I think they killed his family on purpose to make him a machine that's why the woman said drop a bomb and make another one but he didn't want to I guess the third film will have to be sequel to finish up cause now he training a kid to be a Sicario I think he knew that kid didn't shoot to kill him on purpose.

Look at the effects of this on Isabel. At the end, the poor girl was catatonic and in shock.Focus on what Alejandro replies to Matt, "Not this one".

As someone who has driven in convoys with indigenous police forces of questionable loyalty, this scene was incredibly tense for me.

I had my wife next to me during the film. Right as this scene started, I began to focus on the M240 gunner, whose vehicle was tailing a little slower than the other Federales and ultimately provided the blocking point for the HMMWVs.

"Him. I don't like him," I told her. "Keep your eye on that '240 gunner."

    Sure enough, green on blue.

Funny to note: Matt calls contact on left side @ 100m. He is looking and the target is engaged on his right side.

    Still, powerful scene.

must require great concentration to drive in a high speed convoy like that.

How cash in on a very good movie by making a shitty one. Lesson 1.
